Dear Friends of Dance Salad Festival,

Dance Salad Festival 2010 will be filled with exciting premieres and performances by exquisite dancers and choreographers from Hungary, Mexico, Norway, Belgium, France, Canada and other countries. After 15 seasons in Houston, I still find it exciting to share with you the magic that occurs when so many talented international artists come here to perform for us at the Wortham Center.

While performances are always the high point of Festival week, we are pleased that our community outreach programs also help to build multicultural understanding and appreciation. Additionally, we are proud to offer young dancers the opportunity to see and work with world-renowned dancers and choreographers and to provide students and underserved audiences with free and reduced-price performance tickets. (See the schedule of 2010 Festival-related events in this brochure and on our website, www.dancesalad.org.)

As you may know, ticket sales cover less than 25% of Dance Salad’s costs. To fund the balance, we rely on the support of foundations, corporations and especially generous individuals – like you. I hope that you will join our Patron Circle, which provides many special benefits, including complimentary performance tickets. However, if this is not an option for you, please know that each and every contribution will help us meet the artistic and production costs of the Festival. I personally invite you to support Dance Salad Festival with a tax-deductible donation of whatever amount is appropriate to your circumstances.
